An event will be held this weekend marking 40 years since the disappearance of Cherrie Mahan.
It was on February 22, 1985 when 8-year-old Cherrie Mahan disappeared after getting off of her school bus on Cornplanter Road in Winfield Township.
On Saturday, Mahan’s mother, Janice McKinney, will partner with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to mark the 40 years since Cherrie disappearance.
The event will be held at the Saxonburg VFW on Main Street. It is open to the public from 4-8 p.m.
There will be a presentation on the importance of fingerprinting children—and free fingerprinting will be offered at the event.
