The public is invited to attend an event this weekend in neighboring Armstrong County to look back on a local disaster.
The Bradys Bend Flood happened in mid-August 1980 and an event Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Brady’s Bend Township Municipal Building will mark the 45th anniversary.
This gathering will include a history room with poster boards and a video collage as well as activities for kids and autographed books. Food trucks will also be on site along with live music.
Those planning to attend are asked to bring a lawn chair and be aware of limited on-site parking with shuttle service from the underground storage.
