The National Weather Service has announced they are extending their heat warning and heat advisories into the weekend.
Through Saturday at 8 p.m. the National Weather Service is keeping parts of Western Pennsylvania, including Butler County, in the extreme category for the risk of heat-related impacts.
This means there will be little to no overnight relief and those living without cooling or adequate hydration affects may face health risks.
There is also a Code Orange Air Quality Alert for the area, which means that air pollution concentrations within the region may become unhealthy for sensitive groups. That would include children, the elderly, and people suffering from asthma, heart disease, or other lung diseases.
Those suffering from respiratory illnesses should avoid strenuous outdoor activities.
