Main Street in downtown Butler is expected to close for a few hours on Friday for the Jeep event.
Starting at 3pm Friday (6/11/21), Main Street will be closed to thru traffic and isn’t expected to reopen until at least 10pm. So, you’ll need to find another route around downtown during that time.
That may not be your only traffic concern on Friday. Throughout the afternoon, participants in both the parade and ‘Jeep Invasion’ will be staging at the Pittsburgh Butler Regional Airport in Butler. At least 500 Jeeps are registered for the parade with 1,000 Jeeps registered to be parked downtown following the parade.
Parade participants should be lined up by 3:30pm with the parade beginning at 4pm. Then the Jeep drivers who will stay and be parked downtown will follow.
The parade will head north on Route 8 and drive through town, which is a six mile stretch. That means the right lane on Route 8 North will be closed to any other traffic until all the Jeeps have gone through.
Once the “Invasion” participants arrive, they will start parking their vehicles on the North end of Main Street and continue to fill in space from there.
