The Pittsburgh Pirates won their second straight game with a 2-1 victory over Milwaukee last night. Left-handed starting pitcher Bailey Falter tossed seven strong innings. He allowed three hits and struck out eight for his second victory of the season. He pitched to one batter in the eighth inning, allowing a solo home run to Brewers catcher Gary Sanchez. Two Pirate relievers closed the game from there, with David Bednar earning his second straight save in the series with a perfect ninth inning.
Andrew McCutchen hit a lead-off home run for the second straight game. He had two of the Pirates seven hits.
The Bucs and Brewers continue their series tonight at 6:40pm. Pre-game begins at 6:15pm on WISR.
The two teams play a get-away game early Thursday afternoon before the Pirates head to the west coast.
