It’s the first Friday in Lent—which means it’s time for fish fries.
It’s a tradition that is quite popular in the area and around Pittsburgh.
The 9th annual Zelienople Fish Fry benefit will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Zelienople American Legion Hall.
Those attending will have the choice of baked or hand-breaded fried fish or chicken strips as well as a choice of two sides including coleslaw, mac-n-cheese, or pirogues. This event will also have raffle baskets.
This event has historically benefitted the Zelienople Memorial Skate Park and even though the skate park has been completed, money still needs to be raised to finish paying for the work that has been done.
The cost for dinner is $13 for adults and $6 for kids, eat in or take out.
