A Florida man has been sentenced for scamming seniors, including some here in Butler County.
Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday’s office recently announced that 57-year-old Steve Nichols of Fort Lauderdale will serve two and a half to 20 years in state prison for seven distraction-style burglaries in five counties.
Nichols and another man would pose as utility workers to target elderly residents with one of them talking to a homeowner while the other entered the home and stole cash and other valuable items.
The crimes also happened in Erie, Westmoreland, Lackawanna, and Indiana Counties.
