A food distribution is planned for this weekend in neighboring Lawrence County.
The event will take place Saturday beginning at 8:30 a.m. at The Towne Mall Cascade Galleria Plaza in New Castle.
Volunteers will load boxes of fresh milk provided by Marburger Dairy, as well as frozen meat, fresh eggs, a variety of fresh produce and nutritious shelf-stable groceries into the vehicles of families in need.
As a result of the delay in SNAP benefits earlier this month, the limit of two families per car has been increased to three and the distribution will continue as long as supplies are available.
