Butler Township officials are confirming an investigation is underway into a former township commissioner.
Butler Township Manager Tom Knights said in a statement that the township “has been notified of allegations involving a former Township Commissioner and is aware of an investigation being conducted by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office.”
The statement from Knights comes following a post on social media Wednesday morning alleging criminal activity by former Township Commissioner Dave Zarnick.
Neither the Township or the Attorney General’s office would provide any details or name any individuals involved in the investigation. Both also said they would not be commenting further on the matter.
However, Knights did say that the Township is cooperating fully with the investigation.
