A resident of Allison Park and former teacher at the Knoch Primary School is facing charges.
According to State Police, 35-year-old Carly Miller struck an 8-year-old male child in the face during school hours November 26th of last year.
Miller is facing charges of Simple Assault and Harassment.
Knoch Solicitor Tom Breth told our newsroom that the district suspended Miller the day the incident occurred. They then conducted an investigation which resulted in Miller being fired.
Miller has since appealed the termination so an arbitrator will be chosen to hear the facts and rule on her employment status.
