The former chief of the Petrolia Volunteer Fire Company has died.
Donald “Tops” Shakley passed away earlier this week.
Shakley served as fire chief for many years, including helping to raise money through the annual parade and carnival. He also served as a Fairview Township Supervisor for 10 years.
Shakley was 87 years old.
