A former CEO of a marine contracting company will spend the next two years in prison following a tax evasion scandal.
52-year-old Eli Zatezalo of Gibsonia was sentenced to 24 months in jail and to pay over $2.6 million in restitution to the IRS.
Zatezalo pled guilty to tax evasion charges that happened over a 13-year period. Prosecutors said that he would transfer taxable income into other financial accounts in order to avoid IRS collection efforts.
Following his release, Zatezalo will be under three years of supervised release.
