The chances of Major League Baseball having a 162-game season in 2022 disappeared Wednesday when labor talks bogged down and commissioner Rob Manfred canceled 93 more games. Apparently one of the key issues of disagreement is management’s attempt to gain an international amateur player draft. Talks between the two sides went into last night as the lockout nears day 100, but games are now canceled through April 13th.
The Indianapolis Colts have agreed to trade quarterback Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders for draft picks. The 29-year old Wentz spent just one season with the Colts. He has three years remaining on his contract and returns to the NFC East. Wentz was the second overall draft selection by Philadelphia in 2016.
