A woman has filed a civil suit against the General Richard Butler Vagabonds for unpaid wages.
The former executive director Melissa Frederick claims that from May of 2023 to May of 2024 she was not paid her $600 a week for her work. She is now seeking $18,600 in back wages.
Frederick was hired in 2018 and her responsibilities including booking the hall for events, coordinating and supervising a weekly Bingo Night, making all bank deposits, paying ongoing bills, and coordinating maintenance for the building and property. She’s seeking the back wages and 25% in damages and attorneys’ fees.
The center located on Whitestown Road will placed on the sheriff sale list in November due to two mortgage default judgments.
