A former Butler bar that was known for its close quarters is being torn down today.
The former Vero’s Bar on East Locust Street is being taken down as part of a construction project on the property.
Dan Stutz, a former patron, was on location today to remember the neighborhood pub.
“We called it ‘The Home Office,’” Stutz said. “Mrs. Vero would cook meals in the kitchen and then send them through a sliding door by the bar. Just a great place.”
The bar was owned and operated by the Vero family from 1948 to 1995.
