Forward Township has reopened discussion for their 2026 budget and have scheduled a meeting for potential changes.
After two new supervisors were sworn in, they voted to reopen the budget to address two items.
The supervisors would first like to revisit the roadmaster schedule.
Supervisors also wanted a better background on the township’s contribution to non-profit organizations such as the volunteer fire department, EMS providers, the library, Meals on Wheels and the Boy Scouts. This money comes from the local tax service revenue.
Officials with the township didn’t say what the exact changes would be, but said there will be no new taxes added and the fire tax will not be touched.
The budget has to be finalized by February 15 and if not, the township will operate under the already approved budget.
A meeting to finalized potential changes has been scheduled for February 12.
