Forward Township recently approved the final design of a new sports complex last week but there is still work to be done before shovels are in the ground.
Last week Forward Township supervisors approved a privately-built sports complex that would be off Watters Station Road, however supervisors said it was on the contingency of some final approvals.
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection needs to approve a sewage treatment plant and water system permit. The county conservation district also needs to approve a sediment and erosion plan.
The Cashdollar Development will also need to reach an agreement with Forward Township to operate and maintain their stormwater detention pond. Finally, a building permit needs to be approved by the township.
When the facility is eventually built, it will include an outdoor soccer field, a smaller indoor soccer field, four to six indoor pickleball courts, one outdoor and two indoor pole vaulting facilities.
