Primary voters will head to the polls next Tuesday as they cast ballots for local races.
One of the few competitive countywide races is for the Butler County Court of Common Pleas.
There are two seats available, with one judge retiring and the state approving an additional seat for the Common Pleas Court.
There are four candidates running:
- Jim Inscoe, an Adams Township resident and attorney with K&L Gates
- Matt McCune, a Butler native and attorney with Conlon Tarker.
- John Scialabba, a Butler native and attorney with Frank, Gale, Bails and Pocrass
- Jake Roberts, a Mars resident and public defender in Clarion County.
Both McCune and Scialabba are registered Republicans, but have cross-filed and will appear on both Republican and Democratic ballots.
Inscoe and Roberts will appear on just the Republican ballots.
The top-two vote getters in each primary will advance to the general election in the fall.
