The Butler Girl’s Track & Field team clinched a WPIAL Class Triple-A playoff berth Tuesday following a 94-56 win over Seneca Valley. The Butler girl’s are four-time defending WPIAL Champions. This is the 8th straight years that the Girl’s have qualified for the WPIAL Playoffs.
Alli Morrow continued her dominate senior season with wins in the 100-Dash, 200-Dash, Long Jump and was part of the 4×100 Relay win. Megan Penrod also was a double winner with victories in the Javelin and Shot Put. Jen Cichra led the distance runners with a win in the 1600-meter, 4×400-relay and a second in the 800. Grace Nichols won the High Jump with a personal best leap of 5-feet. Emma Lehman contributed a win in the 300-Hurdles as well as her part in the 4×400 relay win. Carlie Baker won the Discus and Megan Baggetta won the Triple Jump.
Ruthie Hughes won the 3200-meter run for Seneca Valley while Maddy Berger won the 100 Hurdles.
The playoff opponents will be released on Thursday afternoon. The playoffs open on Tuesday, May 3rd
