WPIAL Soccer Playoffs:
–Freeport defeated Beaver 2-1 in the Class 2A First Round. Camryn Woods scored both goals for the Yellow Jackets who will meet South Park in the Quarterfinal round Saturday.
–South Park defeated Knoch 2-1 in overtime last night in their First Round match.
–North Catholic defeated Woodland Hills 8-2. Simone Sharpless scored a hat trick for the Lady Trojans. North Catholic will meet Shady Side Academy Saturday in the Class 2A Quarterfinals.
District 10 Class 2A Boys Soccer Quarterfinals – Grove City defeated Slippery Rock 2-0. The Eagles will meet top-seed Fairview in the Semifinals.
In the First Round of the PIAA Team Tennis Playoffs:
–Knoch defeated Elk County Catholic 5-0.
WPIAL Girls Volleyball Playoffs tonight:
–Knoch will face Montour in the Class 3A First Round tonight at Hampton high school. The match begins at 6pm.
–Mars will meet South Fayette, also in the Class 3A First Round tonight at Thomas Jefferson high school. The match begins at 6pm.
–Freeport will host Charleroi in the Class 2A First Round at 7:30pm.
Hockey:
–Butler-4 McDowell-0. E.J. Delaney made 21 saves in the shutout for the Golden Tornado.
