The Freeport community is remembering a 13-year-old boy who died in a bicycle crash over the weekend.
Dylan Tarbi was riding his bicycle with a friend on Cole Road in Buffalo Township Friday evening when he was hit by a truck. Police say the driver did not see the boys due to sun glare.
Tarbi was taken to Children’s Hospital, where he later died. The other 13-year-old suffered minor injuries.
Students will be returning to Freeport Area Middle School today, where they are being asked to wear blue or the number 88 in honor of Dylan. He was an athlete that played baseball, boxing, and also ran track.
Counseling will be made available to students and other school community members.
