Butler Area School District families are being informed about a rare animal sighting that occurred last week.
On Friday, the Butler Area School District notified the community that they received reports of a black bear sighting on the Senior High School campus.
There have been no reports of human contact or aggressive behavior, but out of caution the district has notified the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
Those with questions regarding black bears are directed to contact the PA Game Commission.
