The Pennsylvania Game Commission has announced the expansion of Chronic Wasting Disease Management Areas (DMAs) in the state, as well as new policies.
DMA 3 which includes Armstrong and Clarion Counties has expanded. This comes after officials discovered of a road-killed deer with Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) in Indiana County. There are also two other DMA areas; one in eastern Pennsylvania that has been expanded and a section closer to central that has been closed.
Officials also say that if you are hunting out of state, you can now bring potentially infected deer across state lines. But they have to be brought directly to a Game Commission-approved processor or taxidermist anywhere in the state.
To help with the increase in cases, antlerless deer licenses have been increased.
