Gas prices in western Pennsylvania have decreased for the third week in a row.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler is $2.98 per gallon. That’s six cents cheaper per gallon than last week.
As for western Pennsylvania as a whole, prices are about two cents cheaper this week averaging $3.03 per gallon. The cheapest gas in the area can be found in Altoona at $2.83 per gallon, while the most expensive is $3.16 in Kittanning.
Despite high demand over the Memorial Day weekend travel period, stable crude oil prices have helped to push prices down at the pump. Today’s national average of $2.82 is 16 cents cheaper than one year ago.
