Gas prices have remained relatively even both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, increased by a penny to reach $3.93 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole decreased by a penny over the same period of time to reach $3.84. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Sharon at $3.61, while the most expensive is in Warren at $4.00.
The average national gas price rose by two cents over the past week to reach $3.83. This is a penny less than a month ago but 12 cents more than one year ago. Both demand for gas and the price of oil increased slightly as Saudi Arabia announced that they would continue their voluntary one million barrels per day production cut through the end of the year.
