Gas prices continue to rise locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, jumped to $2.76 per gallon which is an increase of nine cents since last week after increasing by 12 and 13 cents the two weeks before.
Prices climbed by three cents to $2.73 per gallon across western Pennsylvania as a whole over the past week. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Latrobe at $ 2.54 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.80 in Brookville.
The average national gas price has risen by two cents over the last week to $2.40. AAA reports that crude oil price dropped over the past week however demand for gas is now rising significantly which may result in further increases at the pump.
