Gas prices both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania declined slightly this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, is $2.44 per gallon which is a penny less compared to last week.
Prices dropped by two cents across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week, to reach $2.45 per gallon. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $ 2.37 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.50 in Mercer.
The average national gas price stayed steady this week at $2.19 as most state averages have not fluctuated. According to AAA, demand for gas has been even over the past month but decreasing crude stocks could mean that current production rates could stabilize crude prices.
