Gas prices have again dropped slightly both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, fell by three cents over the past week to settle at $4.25 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole also decreased by three cents during that same time to reach $4.25. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Altoona at $4.18, while the most expensive is $4.31 in Beaver.
The average national gas price dropped by seven cents over the past week to reach $4.11 which is 22 cents less than a month ago. According to AAA, the price of crude oil has declined to below $100 per barrel as oil inventories increase. Also, the demand for gas has increased slightly.
