Gas prices have slightly declined both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, dropped by a penny to $3.24 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole also decreased by a penny over the past week to settle at $3.24. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Altoona at $3.16 per gallon, while the most expensive is $3.28 in Uniontown.
The average national gas price also sank by a penny over the past week to $3.07 as a result of increasing levels of gasoline reserves. AAA expects high refinery utilization to balance out rising demand with crude oil prices a good indicator of if gasoline prices rise or fall.
