Gas prices have lowered both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, dropped by eight cents to hit $3.11 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole decreased by a nickel to sit at $3.12. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Sharon at $2.92, while the most expensive is in Warren at $3.42.
The average national gas price has gone up six cents the past week at $2.88, which is 24 cents lower per gallon than last year. Both gasoline demand and oil prices decreased slightly last week.
