Gas prices stayed even locally while increasing a bit across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, remained level at $4.08 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole increased by two cents to reach $4.16. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Sharon at $3.96, while the most expensive is in Altoona at $4.33.
The average national gas price increased by seven cents over the past week to $4.11 which is nearly a dollar more than a year ago. This is attributed to the ongoing conflict in the Persian Gulf region. Gasoline demand dropped last week while the price of oil rose to nearly $93 a barrel.
