Gas prices have remained mostly steady this week both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, increased by a penny over the past week to $3.57 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole fell by a cent during that same time to also reach $3.57. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Sharon at $3.50 per gallon, while the most expensive is $3.64 in Mercer.
The average national gas price dropped by a penny over the past week to $3.39. According to AAA, although the price of crude oil declined by more than $10 based on concern about the new COVID-19 Omicron variant, it is still too early to tell what long-term impact this may have on prices at the pump.
