Gas prices continue to climb both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week as crude oil have increased as well.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, rose by a penny to $3.25 per gallon.
Average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole also increased by a penny over the past week to reach $3.25. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Altoona at $3.15 per gallon, while the most expensive is $3.27 in Uniontown.
Even though the average national gas price only increased by three cents over the past week to $3.08, crude oil has jumped $23 per barrel since January. AAA sees that price mostly balanced by a continued decline in demand for gas as well as high levels of supply available.
