Gas prices have again dropped slightly both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, fell by a penny over the past week to settle at $4.28 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole decreased by one cent during that same time to reach $4.30. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $4.27, while the most expensive is $4.40 in Warren.
The average national gas price dropped by a penny over the past week to reach $4.24 which is 63 cents more than a month ago. According to AAA, the price of crude oil remains near $110 per barrel. The demand for gas has again dipped slightly. Experts continue to expect that the price of oil will continue as the main cause of high prices at the pump.
