Gas prices have continued to increase both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, increased by nine cents to reach $3.32 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole also rose by nine cents to sit at $3.31. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Brookville at $2.99, while the most expensive is in Bradford at $3.39.
The average national gas price is up by three cents over the past week to $2.90 but this is still lower than one year ago when gas averaged $3.12. Gasoline demand decreased but oil prices increased last week.
