A gate along the Butler-Freeport trail was damaged over the weekend.
Police say it happened in between Saturday night and Sunday morning when a yellow steel post for a gate system on the south trail near Great Belt Road and Becker Road was uprooted from a concrete support buried in the ground.
Police believe it was caused by an ATV running it over.
The damage was estimated at $1,000 and there are currently no suspects.
