The ongoing legal battle between a local attorney and mayor is continuing.
Attorney Jennifer Gilliland Vanasdale says she has now filed a “writ of summons” against Slippery Rock Mayor Jondavid Longo, attorney Rebecca Black, and her firm Lutz, Pawk and Black.
Gilliland Vanasdale previously sued Longo and others for sharing false information on social media. That case was dismissed, but she is appealing before the Superior Court.
Longo then sued Gilliland Vanasdale in order to recoup legal costs. His attorney Rebecca Black says that lawsuit was dropped without prejudice as the appeal process takes place, but there are plans to refile that suit.
Meanwhile, Gilliland Vanasdale says her latest filing is in regards to “wrongful use of civil proceedings.” She plans on filing a civil complaint, but that hasn’t been made official yet.
