As the budget impasse continues to stretch on in Harrisburg, a top Republican leader doesn’t see anything being resolved soon.
Seth Grove is the appropriations committee chairman and he expects that the budget process will remain at a stalemate at least through September.
He cites the recent resignation of a state representative and the special election scheduled for September 19th as a reason for the delay.
He also says Republicans take issue with the funding proposal for state-related universities, like Pitt and Penn State.
Grove doesn’t expect the House to return before its next scheduled session, which is September 26th.
