Governor Tom Wolf is calling on Congress to pass a relief bill that would provide financial assistance to restaurants.
It’s known as the RESTAURANTS Act—and it was introduced to Congress last month.
The bill would provide $120 billion in funding to restaurants who have been hit hard by restrictions put in place due to the coronavirus.
The grants would cover the difference between 2019 revenues and projected revenues through the end of the year. To be eligible, establishments must not be publicly traded or be a part of a chain with 20 or more locations.
Wolf says the act is a “critical step to help many of these small businesses and save jobs from the diner to the farm.”
