Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf has signed a couple of executive orders designed to protect Pennsylvanians during the ongoing public health crisis.
Wolf’s first move was to sign an order to block foreclosures and evictions through July 10th.
“That’s an additional 60 days from the end of Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court order,” Wolf said. “This executive order takes one more burden off people who are struggling and gives them more time to get back on their feet.”
Various state agencies have been directed to take action to help homeowners and renters such as the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency, the Department of Human Services, and the Department of Community and Economic Development.
Wolf noted that this action does not remove the need for people to make rent or mortgage payments.
“If you don’t make payment you could be accruing late penalties,” Wolf said. “If you’re struggling making payments, I encourage you to contact your mortgage company or your landlord.”
Wolf also signed another executive order to provide protection against liability to health care providers for good faith actions taken in response to the need in this workforce during the COVID-19 pandemic.
