Governor Tom Wolf believes high school sports should not take place for the rest of the year.
“The guidance from [the state] is that we don’t do any sports until January 1st,” Wolf said.
The governor made the statement at the end of his press conference Thursday.
The announcement was not a formal policy, but Wolf said it is his recommendation.
The PIAA oversees high school sports, and said following a meeting Friday that they plan to work with state officials over the next two weeks to see if there is a way to offer sports safely and responsibly.
