Governor Tom Wolf is thanking food banks for helping feed Pennsylvania families during the pandemic.
Wolf said food banks and their volunteers were immensely important during the past few months and that they’ll play a big role in the fight against hunger in the future.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has pointed out just how important food banks are,” Wolf said. “But I think people who know understand this is important in a steady state. We need to take food insecurity seriously and food banks play a huge role in making sure people have enough food to eat.”
The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank has donated over 10 million pounds of food during the coronavirus pandemic.
