A Butler woman is facing charges after an infant in her care was taken to the hospital with drugs in their system.
On Saturday, State Police were called to Butler Memorial Hospital for a child potentially exposed to heroin.
Upon arrival, the child’s grandmother, 52-year-old Christine Sanderson, told police the child was reaching into a trash can that had a “baggie of heroin” in it.
A urine test done at the hospital showed the child had fentanyl in their system.
Sanderson was charged with endangering the welfare of children, children, and recklessly endangering another person. She was placed in the Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail as she awaits a preliminary hearing.
