The Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank has announced a record-breaking number of meals distributed in the last year.
According to the food bank, 53 million meals were distributed between July 2024 and July 2025, which is five million more than last year.
The food bank says the numbers show the increased need in the 11-county service area, which includes Butler.
Over 18 million pounds of fresh produce and rescued 20.5 million pounds of food that would have otherwise been thrown away.
