A large amount of federal funding will be coming to a local fire department.
According to U.S. Representative Mike Kelly, among the Community Project Funding grants approved last month is $1.2 million for the Harmony Fire District.
This money will be used to replace an existing truck that is 23 years old to benefit four municipalities covered by Harmony Fire District.
Congressman Kelly put in 15 requests for this year’s spending package and three were chosen to be funded with the remaining 12 still under consideration for the future.
