Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin took victories during the weekend doubleheader at the Monster Mile at Dover International Speewday. Hamlin passed teammate Martin Truex, Jr with eight laps remaining to win Saturday. Harvick dominated the Sunday race for his 56th career win – tying Kyle Busch for ninth on the all-time victory list. It was also the 700th Cup Series victory for Ford. Truex, Jr. was again a runner-up Sunday. Seven-time champion Jimmie Johnson was third. The drivers head back to Daytona Saturday night.
Takuma Sato won the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, the second Indy 500 victory of his career, winning under caution after a crash with five laps remaining. Scott Dixon was second. The iconic race was held in an Indianapolis Motor Speedway without fans for the first time in its 104-year history because of the coronavirus pandemic.
