WPIAL Baseball Playoffs Monday (5/18/26):
–Butler defeated Mt. Lebanon 3-2 in eight-innings. The Golden Tornado have reached the WPIAL Class 6A semifinals for the first time since 2023. The will meet Norwin tomorrow. Norwin defeated Central Catholic 4-3 yesterday.
–Canon-McMillan ousted Seneca Valley 16-1 in four innings.
–Reigning WPIAL Class 4A champions Indiana held off Knoch 1-0 in their quarterfinal match-up.
Today in the Class 3A quarterfinals – Freeport will face South Park at Plum high school. First pitch is 6pm.
The Karns City baseball team defeated St. Marys 8-3 in the District 9 Class 3A semifinals and will meet Brookville for the championship. Brookville defeated AC Valley/Union 13-9 in the other semifinal. The championship game will be played tomorrow in DuBois at 4pm.
Tonight in the District 9 Class 2A quarterfinals – Moniteau will meet Smethport at Slippery Rock University’s Jack Critchfield Park. Game time is 6:30pm.
