WPIAL Basketball Playoffs:
Boys:
–The Mars boys fell to Gateway 66-61 in the 5A Quarterfinals. Zach Schlegel led the Planets with 21 points.
–Butler (13-9) will visit Central Catholic (17-5) in the 6A Quarterfinals tonight at 7pm. Hear the game on WBUT beginning at 6:50pm. A limited number of tickets will be available from 9am to 3pm today at the Butler high school Athletic office for $7.
–Also in 6A: Pine-Richland (12-11) will travel to Fox Chapel (21-1). North Allegheny (15-8) travels to North Hills (22-0).
Girls:
–Knoch (19-2) will host Montour (16-6) in the 4A Quarterfinal Round. Tip-off is 7pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 6:45pm.
Saturday – The North Catholic (17-5) girls will face Waynesburg (17-4) at 2pm in the 3A Semifinals. The game will be played at North Hills high school.
District 10:
–The Grove City boys defeated Slippery Rock 46-37 in the 4A Quarterfinals. Grove City will move on to face Oil City Tuesday.
