Butler freshman Kelsee McConnell reached the semifinals of the PA Western Regional Girls Singles Championships Friday in Pittsburgh.
This makes her one of eight qualifiers from the west for the State Championships next Friday. McConnell qualified fourth overall averaging 186 over five games. She won her quarterfinal stepladder match 191-170 over Aubrey Stewart of Cranberry. Kelsee then fell to the eventual winner and number one seed Lydia Flanagan of Burrell 204-189 in the semifinal round.
