PIAA High School Football:
–Redbank Valley will be the first District 9 team to reach a state championship since Smethport 29 years ago after defeating Bishop Canevin 23-14 in the 1A semifinals. They will face Bishop Guilfoyle in the title game Thursday afternoon at Hersheypark Stadium.
–Central Valley defeated Martinsburg Central 35-21 to reach the Class 3A state championship game for the third year in a row. Central will meet Wyomissing in the title game Saturday afternoon.
–Aliquippa defeated Jersey Shore in the 4A semifinals 41-16 and will meet Bishop McDevitt in the championship game Thursday night.
–Penn-Trafford defeated Exeter 49-14 to reach the 5A championship. They will meet Imhotep Charter Friday night in Hershey.
–In the 2A semifinals – Serra Catholic defeated Farrell 27-18 and will face Southern Columbia Friday afternoon.
–Mt. Lebanon will get St. Joseph’s Prep in the 6A final Saturday night. They defeated State College 49-28 to win their first state semifinal game on school history Saturday.
